Tagore published Char Adhyay in 1933. He questioned blind adherence to a leader in the novel.
The play revolves around two lovers Ela, played by Nuna Afroz, and Atindra, played by Ramiz Raju.
Atindra is a supporter of Swadeshi movement. Ela, who is a patriot, stands by Atindra. At one point of the movement the lovers understand that their death is certain. Atindra shoots himself and then shoots Ela...
